Pan Pizza
3 ½ cups flower
1 ¼ cup warm water
1 pack of yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
Your favorite marinara sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice
In a small mixing bowl add yeast with the warm water and sugar, let bloom for ten minutes. After yeast has bloomed and is frothy. In a large mixing bowl add you 3 ½ cups of flower then water and yeast mixture, and kneed by hand or with mixer with dough hook till it forms a smooth ball. Once mixed place cling wrap over the bowl and let rise for at least 45 minutes. “In warm place if possible” After 45 minutes and the dough has doubled in size remove dough onto a flowered work surface and form into a smooth ball. Cut dough into to equal parts and reform into two dough balls. Now take your pizza pan (I use a 10 inch Lodge skillet) and grease the bottom with olive oil. Now form your dough in the pan and preheat your oven to 475 degrees. Once oven is up to temp bake crust in over for about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from over with oven mitt and top with your favorite topping and put back in oven to finish baking for about 15 minutes. Once the cheese is a nice golden brown and the edge is caramelized. Remove from the oven, remove from the pan, to a cutting board. Wait a few minutes to cool and then cut, serve and enjoy.
